Watermelons

Thanks to the high water content (about 95 grams per 100 grams of product) it has a good diuretic function and is mostly considered to be the most refreshing summer fruit.

With Egyptian origin, it was then introduced in the Mediterranean basin and in particular in Turkey, Greece, Italy and Spain. In Italy, productions are more concentrated at the center of Italy, but the best quality with a high sugar is produced in Sicily in the areas of Pachino Ispica. The Crimson/Sweat Variety is the most common and is marketed from late May to July. The fruit has a round shape, a color of green peel with dark green streaks and a thick and crisp red flesh.
